Modern Kitchen
If you're like any other musician city dweller then you know the music can happen at any time, in any room. Here is an improvised theme in E Phyrgi-Dori-Natural Minor that my good friend, pianist, and wildlife photographer Tim Peck happened to catch while visiting us in Portland.
Portrait of Tracy.
I spent a few years studying theory and composition at the University of Massachusetts and decided that I would try my my hand at arranging a piece originally for four-string fretless bass. It's a wonderful tune called 'Portrait of Tracy' by the late Jaco Pastorius.
TheFretBuzz
In addition to writing and performing, I also do a fair amount of teaching and coaching classic, flamenco, and electric guitar at my home in South Portland, Maine and online. TheFretBuzz was created to help guitar players understand and utilize music theory to understand, interpret, and compose music. Here is a brief three minute trick showing you inside The'Buzz.
Cursive For Adults
This tune, from my album Pluviophile is more or less an Alegrías and was recreated for film at the Portland Co. Mill with bailaora Lindsey Bourassa and palmera Molly Angie. Directed by Theron Powell, Assistant Camera by Adrian Wong-Ken, Grip/Gaffe by Chris Reed.
